Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) – 2024 Ghana Youth Meeting
1. What is the Ghana Youth Meeting?
- The Ghana Youth Meeting (GYM) is a youth empowerment event hosted by the Young Diplomats of Ghana (YDG) to commemorate International Youth Day in Ghana. The meeting offers a variety of specialized learning and networking opportunities to facilitate knowledge-sharing, connections, and networking which gives young people a unique experience and the thinking edge to fit into the global order as young leaders.
2. When and where will the Ghana Youth Meeting take place?
- The 2024 Ghana Youth Meeting will take place on August 8th-9th, 2024, at the World Bank offices in Accra, Ghana.
Thursday, August 8: 2:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Friday, August 9, 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
3. What is the theme for the 2024 Ghana Youth Meeting?
- The theme for this year’s GYM is “Digital Empowerment and Leadership: Equipping Ghana’s Youth for Informed Choices”. The 2024 GYM theme builds on the overarching International Youth Day theme, “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development
4. How much is the registration fee?
- The registration fee for the event is GHS 300. This fee is non-refundable.
- Payment can be made using a debit card (Visa or Mastercard), MTN Mobile Money, Telecel Cash, or Airtel Tigo Money. All payments are credited to the International Perspective for Policy & Governance (IPPG), the parent organization of Young Diplomats of Ghana (YDG).
5. What is included in the registration fee?
The registration fee includes:
- All meals and receptions
- Event materials
- Certificate of Honor & Participation
6. How do I register for the event?
- You can register for the event through our online Register menu on the GYM website. Please ensure you have read the registration guidelines and made the registration payment before submitting the registration form.
7. Will I receive a confirmation of my registration?
- Yes, you will receive a confirmation email of your participation within 24 hours of submitting your registration form. If further information is needed to complete your registration, we will let you know.
8. Can I attend the event remotely?
- No, remote participation is not available for this year’s GYM.

10. What should I bring to the event?
- We recommend bringing a notebook and pen for taking notes, business cards for networking, and a positive attitude ready for engagement and learning.
10. Is there a dress code for the event?
- Yes, we encourage attendees to dress professionally to maintain the event’s formal atmosphere.
Day 1:
Gentlemen – Suit with tie preferably on a plain shirt with well-groomed hair and beard.
Ladies – Formal or Corporate with well-groomed hair.
Day 2:
Gentlemen – Corporate African Wear – No Slippers.
Ladies – Corporate African Wear – No Slippers.
11. Will I receive a certificate for attending the event?
- Yes, all participants will receive a Certificate of Honor & Participation at the end of the event.
12. What topics will be covered during the event?
- The event will cover various topics including digital empowerment, leadership, sustainable development, and youth engagement in the political process. Please see the Agenda page of on the YDG website for information on the specific sessions.
